Protecting Prehistoric Cave ArtWe were learning about Prehistoric Art today and I used these great websites with interactive 3D versions of the Laucaux Caves in southwestern France, discovered in 1940, and the Chauvet Caves which were discovered in 1994.
Students wrote their observations of the deterioration of the caves from an article concerning the the threat to the art in the caves of Lascaux due to human invisible invaders: microbial contaminants, and what has been done to protect it. |
