Visual Arts Class designed 2D Greek vases as a part of their Ancient Greek art project unit. Ancient Greeks used vases for everyday use and not just to admire. Painted pottery is one of the forms of art that survived from the Greek civilization. Students were given the choice of two techniques to use representing the black-figure or red-figure style of pottery as well as a vase style. (pdf of styles) Students used construction paper and colored pencils to add details and figures. Narratives of the type of pottery and style was written to be added to the displays so viewers can learn along with the students.
